🦐 Feed, FCR & Biomass Calculations
The calculator combines three key metrics:
  • Average Body Weight (ABW in grams) obtained from weekly sample cast-netting.
  • Estimated Survival Rate (%) based on Days of Culture (DOC) and stocking count.
  • Check-Tray Inspection Time: Check trays (typically 4 trays per 1-hectare pond holding 0.8% of meal weight) are inspected 1.5 to 2 hours post-feeding.
If trays are clean within 1.5 hours, feed is incremented by 5%; if feed remains after 2.5 hours, feeding is reduced to protect pond bottom redox potential and prevent dangerous ammonia spikes.
FCR = Total Feed Consumed (kg) ÷ Total Harvested Biomass (kg).
A healthy commercial Vannamei crop achieves an FCR between 1.15 and 1.35. An FCR exceeding 1.5 indicates overfeeding, feed leaching, or unrecorded mortalities. Aqua360 alerts you when your cumulative feed usage deviates from standard growth curves.
